LOS ANGELES – On Monday night, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat will be taking on LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers for the last time in their respective careers. After 16 successful years for both James and Wade, the best friends will square off in Los Angeles in a game that will definitely not be just ‘one of 82,' like most players say.

After pouring in 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists in the Heat's stunning win over the L.A. Clippers, Wade acknowledged that the following game against James and the Lakers will not be an ordinary game. Rather, it'll be a far different game against his best friend and a guy he's been through so much with on and off the court.

“It's always a different feeling when you playing against the Lakers,” said Wade after the game. “It looks different. It's dark in the crowd. The energy is different. We played against a good team tonight, a very good team, but we're playing against a team that has a lot of confidence rolling with the best player in the game on their team playing out of his mind. We've definitely got our work cut out for us. It's definitely gonna be a great game for me. I would love for it to go like this and win, but I'm sure it'll go a little bit different.”

Talking about the game is one thing, but stepping out there is going to be a whole different wave of emotions for Wade, who will be facing off against James for the 30th time in their respective careers.

“Excitement,” responded Wade with a smile on what's going through his head. “I'm excited to play versus the Lakers. Always excited to play the Lakers. Obviously, LeBron is there and it's our last time matching up, so it's definitely gonna be a little extra special than any normal game. I'm not gonna tell you it's another one of 82. No, its not, not for me. It's a game where I get to play against not only one of my best friends but one of the game's greatest players for the last time. I want to win as a team but I want to savor the opportunity.”

In their head to head matchups, James averages 28.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.4 three-pointers per game on 49.1 percent shooting from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc. Wade isn't far behind him, however, averaging 25.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks on 46.8 percent shooting from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the arc.

On Monday night, James and Wade will take their 2,168 combined regular season games and 416 combined playoff games for one final game against one another. It should be one very emotional game for the ages.
