Dwyane Wade has welcomed Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat, but the icon joked that Butler can't take his locker nor his jersey number.

Butler will be the Heat's new franchise star after Wade's retirement. The Heat entered a four-team trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, LA Clippers, and Portland Trail Blazers to acquire the 29-year-old. Butler agreed to sign with Miami for a four-year, $142 million deal.

Wade and Butler actually spent some time together with the Chicago Bulls in 2016. Together with Rajon Rondo, they formed a big three with much expectation that they were going to make waves. However, chemistry issues hounded the team which led to an eventual breakup.

Butler has finally found a home after a tumultuous stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves and failed experiment with the Philadelphia 76ers. With the Heat, the four-time all-star will bring his trademark tenacity on both ends of the floor. He has been tagged as one of the best two-way players in the game, having been selected into the All-NBA Third Team twice and All-NBA Defensive Second Team four times.

The Erik Spoelstra-led squad is looking to head back to the playoffs in the coming 2019-2020 season. Last year, the Heat failed to qualify for the postseason — just the third time in Spoelstra's 11-year tenure with the team.
