Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has heard all the storylines and narratives about his team heading into Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

With the Lakers up 3-1 in the series and the Heat’s season on the brink, Spoelstra’s team will enter the game as significant underdogs, much like they have all series long.

But the two-time champion coach doesn’t care for it.

Spoelstra also gave an update on the status of leading scorer Goran Dragic’s status for the pivotal fifth game. The 34-year old point guard remains doubtful for the next game after suffering a torn plantar fascia in Game 1. Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo, meanwhile, will play in Game 5 after recovering from a neck strain and returning in Game 4.

Dragic was seen trying to warm up just before tip-off in Game 4, but was unable to join his team due to the effects of his injury. He was the Heat’s leading scorer in the first three rounds of the playoffs, averaging 19.9 points, four rebounds, 4.6 assists, a steal while shooting 45% from the field and 35.9% from beyond the arc.

The 23-year old Adebayo, meanwhile, returned to the Finals after leaving Game 1, and finished with 15 points and seven rebounds while making six of eight shots from the field in 33 minutes of play in Game 4, which the Heat lost, 102-96.

Despite what everyone else is saying, however, Spoelstra and the Heat are not attending Game 5 just to watch a coronation but intends to leave it all on the court, just as they have throughout their run in the playoffs.
