Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra will have to address plenty of issues going into the offseason — among them, the potential retirement of his star shooting guard, Dwyane Wade.

The man at the helm admitted he's yet to have this conversation with the man that helped him earn his two championship rings in 2012 and 2013.

“I just had an awkward hug with him in the locker room. After the game I was basically in tears,” said Spoelstra candidly, according to Manny Navarro of The Miami Herald. “I'll be honest I'm not even emotionally ready to have a conversation with him. I don't even want to read anything in his eyes.”

Spoelstra said he and Wade will have lunch in the next few weeks to address this, as the team will need to have a plan of attack coming into this upcoming NBA Draft.

Wade showed glimpses of his old self, scoring 28 points in Game 2 and 25 points in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers, but ultimately proved unable to make a major difference coming off the bench against a talented Sixers team.

The 36-year-old Chicago native was trusted into a bench role for the first time after 14 years of being a perennial starter since coming into the league.

Wade's scoring prowess has greatly diminished in the last couple of seasons, averaging a career-worst 11.4 points per game this season between his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Heat.
