Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra says the team has a high sense of urgency to make the playoffs this season, and it's all because of Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

Wade is retiring after this season, so Erik Spoelstra and the Heat want to make sure Miami gets to the postseason so Wade can play in the playoffs one final time before he walks into the sunset.

“The context of these are his last 26,” Spoelstra said, via Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. “There's an instant and inherent built-in level of urgency with our group right now. I love that, because I wouldn't be able to manufacture anything that would come next to that.

“You can see what's happening. He's going to be starting to play starter's minutes. We've made it through this far of the season and he's feeling great. We've protected each other to this point — but now it's go time. I'm going to keep the dynamics as much as I can the same. I don't want too many moving parts this late in the season.”

Entering Saturday, the Heat are 26-31 on the season, good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They entered Saturday one game back of the Detroit Pistons for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Every basketball fan wants to see Dwyane Wade play in the postseason one last time. Let's hope the Heat can come through for Wade and reach the playoffs.
