Goran Dragic used to be one of the NBA's most exciting point guards with his quality of play. However, the Miami Heat guard has recently revealed that he is considering to change how he approaches the game if that meant prolonging his career.

The Slovenian guard has spent six seasons in South Beach, first brought in as a quality player in 2014-15 that would help the Chris Bosh-led Heat to a deep playoff run. However, that didn't pan out and is now looking to spend the remainder of his career in Miami.

Now that he's past his athletic peak and is slowly losing his athleticism, Dragic is looking to make the most of his career by taking more spot-up shots.

“Maybe more threes, more catch-and-shoot plays. I’m working toward that, I’m practicing like that,” Dragic said, per the Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang. “So we’re going to see. But like I said, it all depends how I’m going to feel. I think so far I’m feeling great. But still, I need to test it when the real game starts.”

He has scored fairly close to the basket his entire career. In his 13 seasons in the league, the distance of his shots averages at 12.5 feet. However, his 2018-19 average was at 13.8, showing that he doesn't have the first step he used to have.

Fortunately for him, he has a crack at making the playoffs with Jimmy Butler. Butler has been imposing his will inside, with the 2018-19 season averaging at 11.7 feet. His shooting numbers have also been good, averaging at least 20 points a game over the past couple of years.

If he becomes a strong sidekick to Butler, there's no reason why the Heat wouldn't make the playoffs. After all, there are only a few assured spots in the Eastern Conference.
