Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic has made a name for himself as a fierce competitor, and one of the better floor generals in the NBA today. Now in the offseason, he is starring in the ongoing EuroBasket tournament, and leading the Slovenian National Team’s quest for the gold medal.

The 31-year-old is playing at a very high level, and has made it possible for his home country to remain unbeaten in two matches so far. He has also recorded an incredible stat line in 45 minutes of action, proving even more that he is a cut above the rest among European point guards.

Dragic is coming off his best year as a pro last season, where he averaged a career high 20.3 points and 3.8 rebounds, along with 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.7 minutes per game. He was a key piece to the Heat’s resurgence in the second half of the campaign, where they only missed out on the playoffs due to a tiebreaker.

His strong play of late will only give him more confidence once the new season starts. If he can continue his hot streak, it will be a huge boost to the South Beach team, as The Dragon could produce even better numbers, and lead them back to the postseason. For now, it is very clear that he is focused on the EuroBasket wars, and would like to cap off his stellar performances, by hoisting the championship trophy for Slovenia.
