Justise Winslow recently expressed his desire to become the Miami Heat's main man at point guard.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that Goran Dragic, who has filled that role for the Heat over the past four-plus seasons, claims he has no problem with Winslow's statement:

Winslow got the opportunity to play point guard last season when Dragic missed a significant chunk of time. The 10th overall pick back in 2015 thrived as Miami's primary ball handler and showed a lot of promise as a playmaker and big floor general.

Winslow had the best season of his four-year career in 2018-19. In 66 games, 52 of which were starts, he averaged career bests in points (12.6), assists (4.3) and field goal percentage (43.3 percent).

Dragic, on the other hand, played just 36 games last season. The Serbian point guard struggled to stay on the floor due to recurring issues he had with his right knee.

He underwent surgery in mid-December and missed nearly two months of action. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra entrusted the point guard duties to Winslow, who took advantage of the opportunity.

It's highly likely that the 23-year-old will eventually take the reins from Dragic, who turned 33 in May. This season could prove to be the transition period for the Heat as they look to put the ball in Winslow's hands more to further develop that part of his game.

Likewise, Dragic has also surfaced in all sorts of trade rumors, even almost getting traded this summer. Given his age and contract situation, Miami might look to move the one-time All-Star in exchange for a younger prospect and/or a future asset.
