Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic was one of the main reasons the team won the 2020 Eastern Conference at Walt Disney World. The lefty played like a star and helped the South Beach franchise take out the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics to advance to the Finals.

However, Dragic sadly suffered a serious foot injury in Game 1 of the Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Although he tried his best, the Dragon wasn't able to play in Games 2-5. The veteran made a heroic effort to play in Game 6 but clearly wasn't even close to 100 percent.

The Heat wound up losing to the Lakers in six games.

Dragic, who becomes an unrestricted free agent once the 2020 free agency period starts, recently talked to Shams Charania of Stadium about how difficult it was to not play in the Finals. He also gave an update on his current health.

“It was really tough, I wanted to be out there. I was dreaming as a kid to be in the Finals and unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance or at least the ability to play how I would play. I was doing everything I can to come back and I did but that was not it. The pain was still huge,” Heat point guard Goran Dragic said.

“I feel good (now). No more pain. I can move freely, I can run and everything. So, it’s behind me.”

The good news is that Dragic didn't require surgery on his injured foot, so he'll be ready to go once the 2020-21 season starts on Dec. 22.

Where Dragic is playing, though, is unknown. While the Heat have said they want to re-sign the crafty guard, nothing is certain in the NBA until contracts are signed.
