Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler is grinning from ear to ear after getting some sort of revenge against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. The 31-year-old two-way star poured in 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in Miami's 96-94 win over the defending champions at Staples Center.

Post-match, Jimmy Buckets did not hide his amusement after besting the Lakers, who defeated them in the 2020 NBA Finals in six games. Asked by ESPN's Rachel Nichols if the win signals better days ahead for the struggling Heat this season, the enigmatic Butler emphasized his “grinning” reaction.

Miami's early struggles have been one of the biggest storylines in the 2020-21 campaign, as the team is currently out of the playoff picture in the East with a 13-17 slate (10th place). Jimmy Butler's long absence due to the league's health and safety protocols have greatly hindered the reigning ECF champions so far.

But against the Lakers on Saturday,  Butler and Co. perhaps played their best basketball of the season. The Heat got a huge boost from Kendrick Nunn, who exploded for 27 points, while Bam Adebayo added a solid double-double of 16 points and 10 boards.

The Lakers, on the other hand, dropped their second consecutive game sans Anthony Davis, who will be out of commission for four weeks due to a strained Achilles. LeBron James finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the losing effort, while Kyle Kuzma had a team-high 23 points.

A happy Butler, meanwhile, is indeed a good sign for the Heat and their fans. The five-time All-Star hasn't been shy about calling out his team for their poor start and looks like he's finally satisfied with how they're playing at the moment.
