The Miami Heat drew first blood against the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday. The legendary Magic Johnson had some high praise for Heat All-Star big man Bam Adebayo for his heroics in the game — something that Heat forward Jimmy Butler completely agrees with.

According to Magic, Bam Adebayo's key block on Jayson Tatum's drive to the hole in the dying seconds of overtime was one of the best plays Johnson has ever seen in his life. Butler could not agree more:

Adebayo blocked what would have been a game-tying attempt by Tatum, who himself had the right thing in mind going strong to the rim. Adebayo did not only block the shot, be he also cleanly collected the rebound, giving Miami possession of the ball with a two-point lead with seconds remaining.

Adebayo was tremendous in this one, finishing with 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting, six boards, a steal, and two blocks. Perhaps most impressive was the nine dimes he dished out in the opener, as the 23-year-old exhibited his playmaking prowess in Game 1.

For his part, Tatum was even more impressive on Tuesday, logging a game-high 30 points on 10-of-24 shooting, to go along with 14 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks in 43 minutes of action.

This huge win puts Miami 1-0 up in the series, with Game 2 scheduled for Thursday. If Game 1 was any indication of how this series will play out then we're certainly in store for an epic matchup between two outstanding sides.
