Concern continues to grow over Jimmy Butler's ankle injury that he had sustained during an intense battle between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.

Butler sustained the injury in the first quarter but attempted to power through it—finishing the entire quarter before being forced to leave the game. The Miami Heat superstar exited the game with seven points along with one assist and two steals.

Butler left the Heat to fend off Anthony Davis and the Lakers for the rest of the game, only managing to miss out on the win, 117-120, despite a big 27-point performance from Tyler Herro—who had a couple of good chances to take the lead in overtime.

According to Anthony Chiang, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra reveals that Butler's status ahead of tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers seems to be up in the air.

In order to get a better idea of Butler's status, it'll be key to see if he can participate in Thursday's shootaround session before the game. Additionally, after being diagnosed with whiplash following his altercation with Nikola Jokic, Markieff Morris also remains questionable heading into the 2nd game of Miami's back-to-back.

In the case that Butler remains out for the Clippers game, it can be expected that Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo will take on heavier loads for the time being—while Herro may also see an increase in usage.
