Jimmy Butler loves what he has seen so far from his teammates on the Miami Heat.

Butler, one of the fiercest competitors in the game, says the Heat's roster has “some dogs.”

“We’ve got some dogs,” Butler said, via Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press. “We’ve got some guys that have something to prove every single day. Not just in a game, but out here in practice. Guys that are competing, not scared of anybody in a Heat jersey, not scared of anybody that’s not in a Heat jersey. That’s what I love about it. You know each and every day, each and every game, we’re going to fight, man. And I’m proud of that. I’m happy about that.”

Butler’s hard-nosed style of play and personality will be perfect for the Heat since president Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra look for those two aspects in their players.

Butler, a four-time All-Star, signed a four-year, $140.8 million contract with the Heat in July as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The All-Star swingman averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sixers in 2018-19 while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.
