Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is considering a temporary expansion of Big Face Coffee in Tokyo, Japan.

After the Heat's playoff elimination at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks, Butler sounded off on the idea of playing for Team USA in this year's Olympics, per Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

Jimmy Butler says he will consider the Olympics, but clearly isn't anywhere near a decision yet.
It's tough to ask for any type of commitment from Butler at this point, especially with the Heat crashing down by way of a series sweep. His play was unusually lethargic, only averaging 14.5 points per game on 29.7% shooting from the field. He did contribute his usual numbers in other departments as he normed 7.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in Round 1.
These numbers pale in comparison to his production in the 2020 Playoffs where he led the Heat to the Eastern Conference crown.

As a competitor, it makes sense for Butler to want to have an immediate taste of basketball success. He would get that opportunity if he decides to don Team USA's colors this year in Japan. A gigantic question mark is whether or not the event will push through this year as the pandemic makes every plan—big or small—extremely shaky.
If Butler decides to play and the Olympics receive the ultimate green light, it would mark the Heat swingman's second go at the games. To recall, Butler was a member of the 2016 squad that captured the gold medal in Rio de Janeiro.
