The Miami Heat have been surging lately, winning five of their last six games. However, during their game Wednesday night against the Portland Trailblazers, Heat superstar Jimmy Butler was ejected from the game for arguing with referees.

Late in the 2nd quarter, Butler hit a driving layup and the foul. He immediately went at the official, screaming at him. He was immediately given a technical foul. Butler then walked away and a different official gave him the second technical, ejecting him from the game.

Butler had played only 15 minutes in a tight content between Miami and Portland. After the ejection, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is seen fired up along the bench, clearly not happy with the ejection.

Miami's recent hot streak has come amid some struggles from their leading scorer. He missed almost two weeks with a tailbone injury, as well as being placed on the league's health and safety protocols list.

Miami entered Wednesday's game 28-16, tied with the Chicago Bulls for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Miami was expected to have a solid year, but not many people thought they would be fighting to lead the conference.

Butler overall is having another solid season. He is averaging over 22 points per game, to go along with six rebounds and six assists per game.

Miami acquired former All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry during the offseason and he has had a major impact on the team's success. He has helped players like Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson to emerge this season.

If there is a game where Miami can withstand their leader being tossed from the game, it might be against Portland. They are without their best player, Damian Lillard.
