It's been an up-and-down season for the Miami Heat as the playoffs come ever closer. They're currently ranked seventh in the Eastern Conference with a 28-28 record. The team has suffered three straight losses, which doesn't bode well for their postseason hopes.

Miami's star player Jimmy Butler got real with the Heat's current situation after being asked about the team's play as of late, per Anthony Chiang.

Butler isn't one to mince words, as he's regularly speaking the truth whenever he offers his opinion. After the Heat surprisingly made the NBA Finals last year, the organization built a ton of confidence heading into this season. Instead, they've clearly fallen short. They're barely maintaining the seventh place and are likely to participate in the play-in game this year.

It seems he's attempting to light a fire under his team with his response. Constantly going back and forth in the win/lose columns has to be a humbling experience. He mentions how he, “hope(s) it continues to happen to us,” if they are unable to right the ship. In one response, Butler has shown his leadership by putting the blame on the entire team's shoulders, and it's up to them to correct their errors.

With 16 games left in the regular season, the Miami Heat still has some time left to secure a top six spot in the playoffs. They're only 1.5 games behind the New York Knicks who sit in sixth place as of now. To clinch a position in the playoffs this year, a team has to finish within the top six in their conference.

The Heat aims to get back on track and go above .500 on Sunday, where they take on the Brooklyn Nets in an unfavorable matchup.
