After much drama, it was the Miami Heat who emerged as the grand winners of the Kyle Lowry sweepstakes. Somewhat lost in all the celebration, however, is the fact that the Heat had to part ways with long-time servant Goran Dragic as part of the deal.

Jimmy Butler recently opened up about his relationship with Dragic and how it was extremely difficult for him to speak with Dragic right after the trade was made official. According to Butler, talking to Dragic via FaceTime was one of the toughest things he's had to do upon realizing that they weren't going to be teammates anymore:

“We’re always on FaceTime in the summer. And that was the hardest FaceTime I’ve ever had to do,” Butler admitted, via Brady Hawk of Five Reasons Sports.

Like they always say, basketball is a business and trades are always part of the deal. However, you can't help but feel for the players whenever they are shipped to another team. This is an undeniably emotional moment not only for the player being traded but also for the teammates he's leaving behind. This is especially true for Dragic, who spent the last six years with the Heat.

As Butler said, however, Dragic should “force a switch” with his new team. It is worth noting, though, that this might not be in Toronto. It looks like the 35-year-old doesn't fall into the Raptors' plans for the future, and Dragic has now been linked to a move away from the team.

Best of luck to Goran Dragic wherever he ends up playing next season.
