The Miami Heat took part in a hard-fought clash against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday that resulted in a narrow victory for Miami. After squeaking out a 92-97 win over the Pacers, Jimmy Butler spoke out on Miami's ugly win on Wednesday night.

“Winning is winning; get it how you got to get it,” forward Jimmy Butler said, via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “I think we did a good job of locking in on defense.

It was a defensive-oriented contest between the Heat and the Pacers as Miami shot only 41 percent from the field while making only 31.3 percent of their outside shots. On the other hand, the Heat held the Pacers to 40 percent shooting from the field and a putrid 29.7 percent from beyond the arc.

With a win on Wednesday, Miami has moved to the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference, which would currently pit them against the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the playoffs. Butler said that Wednesday's low-scoring affair is a game that will prepare the Heat for the postseason as they battle for a better seed in the playoffs.

“Now is the time to start practicing these play habits, and that was a playoff game for us.”

Ever since Butler joined Miami, they aren't a team that is going to light up the scoreboard every night, especially with their outside shooting. If it were up to Butler, he'd rather be part of games that both teams score fewer than 100 points every night. The Heat showed against the Pacers that their defense is beginning to find their identity as the regular season continues to progress.
