Jimmy Butler and Bradley Beal are just two of the fiercest competitors in the league today. That was evident in the midway part of the second quarter between the Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, as the pair of All-Stars got tangled and refused to let go of the ball.

Butler poked the ball away from Beal at the halfway mark of the second canto. Refusing to give up the turnover, Beal fought hard to recover the ball but was ultimately called for a loose ball foul.

The pair ended up hugging the basketball and exchanged some friendly banter during the hilarious sequence.

Entering Wednesday's match at AmericanAirlines Arena, Jimmy Butler's Heat and Bradley Beal's Wizards have both struggled to keep up with the much-improved Eastern Conference. The reigning ECF champions have started slow with a 7-12 slate (13th in the conference), while the Wizards ranked dead last with a 4-13 record as of this writing.

Beal's name has been linked to multiple trade rumors this season. Ironically, the Heat are among the supposed suitors for the services of the NBA's leading scorer. Speculations aside, it's clear that Butler and Beal will do everything to lead their respective teams to victory.

Despite the heated battle, it's nice to see the pair still share some mutual respect for one another.
