Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler hurt his ankle on Tuesday’s game versus the Phoenix Suns. Buttler, who only had approximately 72 days of rest this off season, was caught grabbing his right ankle early in the fourth quarter. Good news for the Heat is that their superstar eventually returned to the game so hopefully it’s not too serious moving forward.

The Heat are about to play eight games in the next 12 days. It’s going to be an even tougher stretch if Butler isn't 100 percent as they’ll be going up against the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets in the coming days. They’re currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings with the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets just a game behind them.

If the Heat want to at least get home court advantage come playoff time, they should play the majority of their games in this tough stretch. Butler is averaging 21.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game as he’s been willing his team to victory over the past couple of games. The Heat need their superstar most especially when they attempt to close games and control the momentum of games—two of which happen when a team plays on the road.

Moreover, if Butler’s injury lingers, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson should carry the Heat’s scoring load as well. The Heat are already missing Victor Oladipo and will be without him for a while so they certainly cannot afford to lose their best player right now.
