The injuries continue to plague Justise Winslow's season. After traveling with the team for its most recent road trip, the Miami Heat small forward has decided to return back to South Beach in order to see a back specialist, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Winslow, who did not see action in 16 of the team's last 17 contests, will miss the matchup against the New York Knicks — the third of the team's three-game road trip. Miami is 1-1 so far in the road stretch and Winslow last played on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. In that game, he posted just two points, two rebounds, and one assist in 15 minutes of play.

In the 11 games where Justise Winslow has appeared in this season, the fifth-year pro holds averages of 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Winslow has also struggled with efficiency this season, shooting just 38.8 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent from deep.

The Heat selected Winslow with the 10th pick of the 2015 NBA Draft. Since then, Winslow has been a solid contributor to the Heat. However, he has played in more than 70 games just once in his five-year career.

In spite of Justise Winslow's struggles with injuries and efficiency, the Heat have proven to be one of the biggest surprises of the NBA season. Miami is currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 27-11 record.

Led by offseason addition Jimmy Butler and breakout stars such as Bam Adebayo and Kendrick Nunn, Miami is turning heads even without their former lottery pick in Winslow.
