The series between the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers is shaping up to be one of the more gritty matchups of the playoffs thus far. At the center of the spats between these two teams in Game 3 were forward Justise Winslow and center Joel Embiid.

Needless to say, the two were involved in several notable moments with each other throughout the night. However, Winslow took things a step further when he attempted to destroy Embiid's protective mask while it was on the floor.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, Winslow has since been fined by the NBA:

Miami’s Justise Winslow has been fined $15,000 by NBA for intentionally stepping on Joel Embiid’s mask on Thursday night.

It had been Embiid's first game of the series after sitting out the first two as a precaution. Not surprisingly, the Heat have done whatever they can to limit the capacity of which is in the game.

Aside from his attempts to get under Embiid's skin, he actually played his best game of the series by far. The second-year man provided a spark off the bench with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks on the night.

However, Embiid would ultimately get the last laugh after the Sixers went on to win 128-108 to take a 2-1 series lead. The big man did not miss a beat in his first taste of playoff action after registering a team-high 23 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Although Winslow's antics were to no avail this time around, do not be surprised if he continues to look for jabs to throw at Embiid in this series.
