Miami Heat small forward Justise Winslow showed that he’s a savage himself when he appeared to have deliberately stepped on Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid’s mask back in Game 3 of their teams’ series.  Perhaps irked by Embiid and the fact that Miami could not stop the Sixers unicorn, Winslow resorted to some underhanded tactic to get under the skin of Embiid by stepping on the center’s mask as though he was taking the smoke out of a cigarette.

And for that action, Winslow has been levied on a huge fine by the NBA, per Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Miami’s Justise Winslow has been fined $15,000 by NBA for intentionally stepping on Joel Embiid’s mask on Thursday night.

Justise Winslow is earning $2.7 million this season, but he’s definitely going to feel a burning sensation in his pocket once he coughs up those 15,000 dollars.

Joel Embiid punished the Heat at both ends of the floor in Game 3, his first game back after missing multiple contests due to a facial injury. Embiid finished the game with 23 points, making five of his 11 shots from the field, seven rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 30 minutes of action to help Philly get a 128-108 victory.

As for Winslow, he had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Not too shabby either.

Winslow and the Heat will look to even the series up again this Saturday. The Heat have won seven of their last 10 home games dating back to the regular season.
