Kendrick Nunn started for the Miami Heat during the 2019-20 regular season and played awfully well for an undrafted player. The Chicago native started 67 games and averaged 15.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

However, after his positive COVID-19 test forced him to enter the Walt Disney bubble late, Nunn needed some time to get his conditioning back. With that said, head coach Erik Spoelstra has been starting veteran Goran Dragic at the point guard spot in the seeding games and playoffs.

Nunn surprisingly didn't play in Games 1 to 3 against the Indiana Pacers in the Heat's first-round sweep of Indiana. However, the lefty did see action in Game 4 versus the Pacers and was out there on the floor for 16 minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the second round. Nunn finished with six points and two assists against Cream City.

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday after Miami's stellar Game 1 win, Nunn talked about adjusting to his new role on the Heat, via Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel.

“I wasn’t surprised,” Kendrick Nunn said after Tuesday’s practice at Disney World.

“Me and Spo talked before. He told me that during those Bucks [regular-season] wins how I was a great contributor to those wins, so I’d definitely get in the rotation come this round. I was ready for it.”

The Heat are trying to upset the Bucks and reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2014. Jimmy Butler poured in 40 points in Game 1 and was a man on a mission all night.

While Dragic has been flourishing as the starter again for the Heat, Miami will certainly need Nunn to bring some scoring punch off the bench if the team ultimately wants to win the title at Disney World.
