A University of Kentucky fan lost his mind after getting a game-worn wristband from one of his heroes, Tyler Herro, to be precise. The now Miami Heat guard played only one season in Lexington before declaring for the NBA Draft in 2019, but he's already had a massive following dating back to his days as a college freshman.

The fan, who was wearing Herro's Kentucky jersey, crumbled into tears after a surreal experience following the Heat's 106-97 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday.

Herro was by no means spectacular during his time in Kentucky, besides a 93.5% free throw clip through 37 collegiate games, averaging only 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Yet he has blossomed into one of this draft class' revelations and as one of the dark horse players that can threaten for the Rookie of the Year award.

The 19-year-old put up a 17-point effort off the bench in 30 minutes, coming on the heels of a career-high 29 points against the Hawks on Tuesday. The rookie is averaging a strong 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists through the first five games of the season as one of Erik Spoelstra's first men off the bench, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him get the nod to start at some point this season — especially if his defense picks up.

They say never meet your heroes, but that can always change if it is Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro.
