Kyle Lowry spent a total of nine seasons with the Toronto Raptors before signing a three-year deal, $85 million deal with the Miami Heat this past offseason. By no surprise, it was very hard for him to leave a team where he basically built his legacy and won his first NBA title.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Heat guard hasn't played in Toronto in front of the electric Raptors fans since February of 2020. He is scheduled to make his return to the Six on February 3rd of next year and Lowry revealed that he is extremely nervous. Via Marc Spears of The Undefeated:

“I’m a man’s man, but I know I’m going to be a little bit sensitive and crying that day. I don’t know. I might hold it in,” Lowry said. “I’ve talked to [former Raptors teammate] DeMar [DeRozan] about it. But it’s one of them days where I know it’s going to be a lot of love for me and me giving love back, it’s just going to be interesting how it goes down because I don’t know what to expect.”

One of the reasons Lowry was able to even secure the bag with the Heat is because of just how much he grew as a player and a person in Toronto. The veteran made six All-Star appearances while playing a huge part in their NBA championship in 2019 alongside Kawhi Leonard.

Now, Lowry is chasing another ring with a promising Heat team who are shaping up to be one of the best squads in the Association on both ends of the floor. His leadership and versatile skillset are already paying dividends for Miami, but Lowry's heart will forever live in Toronto.
