Not many can argue against the notion that LeBron James' Big 3 with the Miami Heat alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh has gone down as one of the most dominant trios in league history. The fact that they went to the NBA Finals for four straight years and won two championships during that span is a clear testament to this.

Skip Bayless doesn't disagree. What the renowned NBA analyst takes an issue with, however, is how some people think that Wade needed LeBron to go and join the Heat to win more championships. In his mind, Bayless thinks that it's actually the other way around:

“People say, ‘Well, Dwyane Wade sacrificed for LeBron,” Bayless said on his podcast (h/t Akash Murty of The Sports Rush). “Yeah, Dwyane Wade did sacrifice for LeBron to join him in Miami with Chris Bosh. But trust me on that, LeBron needed Dwyane way more than Dwyane needed LeBron because Dwyane had won a ring (in 2006). ”

Bayless did acknowledge that Wade was already at the tail end of his career at that point and that LeBron needed to come to Miami to help Wade out. However, in terms of winning a championship, Skip argues that Wade had already achieved that even before LeBron arrived:

“OK, so, yeah, he needed LeBron for the last hurrah of his career, but he didn’t need LeBron to show him how to win championships,” he continued. “He’d already done that. LeBron needed Dwyane to teach him how to control his emotions and win a championship.”

To be fair, it was in Miami where LeBron won his first championship in 2012. He has won three more since and there's no denying that Dwyane Wade played a major role in The King's evolution into a true champion.
