Max Strus has been playing some of his best basketball for the Miami Heat in the postseason. He's no star, but he's been an important element to the success this team has achieved not only in the playoffs but throughout the season as well.

For those that may not know, Strus actually first entered the NBA as part of the Boston Celtics — the team that's now standing in the way of the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. The 6-foot-5 swingman was signed by the Celtics in 2019 as an undrafted rookie. He never got the chance to play, though, and he was waived by Boston not long after he joined the squad.

He's come a long way now that he's with the Heat. Nevertheless, Strus has made it abundantly clear that he holds no ill will against the Celtics:

“No,” Strus told Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. “This isn’t about me. This is bigger than me. It’s the Eastern Conference finals. There’s no personal vendettas here. We’re just trying to win a series.”

There is no better way for Strus to prove to the Celtics that they made a mistake about letting him go than by helping the Heat defeat them in the East Finals. Clearly, this is what the 26-year-old is set out to do.
