Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has provided the latest update on Markieff Morris.

The infamous altercation between Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic and Miami Heat forward Markieff Morris saw the latter being sidelined in several games due to whiplash.

Despite not being handed a suspension, Morris did not join the Heat on its four-game road trip and is likely to miss at least 10 games.

At the heat of the issue, Spoelstra labelled Jokic's act as “a very dangerous play” given Morris was on his back when the reigning MVP shoved him hard. Apparently, coach Spoe's stance on the subject has not changed one bit. But more importantly, he divulged that Morris is now “feeling better.”

“It was a very dangerous play and it’s really unfortunate,” Spoelstra said via Sun Sentinel. “That’s the byproduct of those kind of dangerous actions. But he is feeling better. We’ll just continue to take it one day at a time.”

While some are still buzzing about it even to this day, Spoelstra had already insisted early on that he and the Heat will carry on and not dwell on the negative impact of the unfortunate event.

“I'm done talking about it,” the coach previously said via ESPN. “I think everybody sees where I stand, where we stand on it. At this point, it's irrelevant whether we agree or disagree.”

Shortly after the Jokic-Morris incident, the league announced that Morris has been fined $50,000 for his part but will not face suspension. Heat star guard Jimmy Butler, meanwhile, was fined $30,000 for attempting to escalate the said altercation and failing to comply with an NBA security interview.
