The Miami Heat struggled throughout most of the 2018-19 regular season, sputtering to the end and missing out on the playoffs after surprisingly making it last season. With a crucial offseason ahead of them, the Heat could be looking to make some big trades, and could be thinking of improving their point guard situation.

According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, sources have told him that one team to watch in the Mike Conley hunt is the Heat. With the Memphis Grizzlies surprisingly moving up to the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, they are now primed to select Murray State's Ja Morant, effectively ending Conley’s time with the team.

As the Heat wait for Goran Dragic to make a decision on his $19 million player option for next year, they could be targeting Conley. According to Deveney, Heat president Pat Riley has coveted Conley for some time, and still wants to bring him to the Heat. Currently, the Heat hold the No. 13 overall pick in the draft, and thanks to the inconsistent nature of this particular draft, the Heat could be willing to part with the pick in an effort to gain Conley.

While this could happen, the Grizzlies would likely have to take on extra salary in order to make it work, as Conley is also due nearly $31 million next season. Still, if the Heat are looking to move on from Dragic and covet Conley, Riley has shown that he's always willing to do whatever it takes to make the Heat better, even if it means spending more than some think he should.
