Talented 6-foot-8 power forward Duncan Robinson was the recipient of some good news of late after the Miami Heat announced their intention to pick up his partially-guaranteed deal for the upcoming season.

Robinson came into the league last season as an undrafted rookie. He barely figured in to Miami's rotation last year, playing in only 15 contests for the entirety of the season, averaging 3.3 points, 0.7 three-pointers, 1.3 rebounds, 0.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks in just 10.7 minutes per ballgame.

Per Basketball Reference, Robinson earned only $9,474 last season with the Heat. Despite his modest rookie campaign, he must have shown enough upside for the team to decide to retain his services, and in the process, skyrocketing his salary to a whopping $1.4 million for the coming season.

Robinson's projected earnings absolutely pails in comparison compared to the other players on Miami's roster (Jimmy Butler will be the team's highest-paid player in the coming season with a $32.7 million paycheck), but it is definitely a tremendous leap compared to what the 25-year-old pocketed last year.

Robinson is living proof that hard work pays off (literally), and while he is not expected to figure significantly in the Heat's plans this season (he might even be assigned to the Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce), we wouldn't expect this young man to rest on his laurels one bit. Robinson is a grinder, and surely, he will be ready if and when head coach Erik Spoelstra calls his number.
