Jimmy Butler currently leads the Miami Heat in scoring and assists. The four-time All-Star is averaging a team-high 18.4 points and 7.2 assists through the Heat’s first 12 games.

Heat legend Udonis Haslem admits he didn't know how unselfish Butler is, while rookie Kendrick Nunn says the 30-year-old is “a great passer.”

“I didn’t know how unselfish he was,” Haslem said, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “Not that I thought he was a selfish player. But naturally when you see guys that put up good numbers or big numbers in this league, you don’t think about so much the playmaking unless you see it firsthand like Dwyane [Wade] and Bron, and those guys that I got a chance to see firsthand.”

“He’s a great passer,” Nunn said. “When he drives, he brings the whole defense together, and he kicks it out pretty easy. You see it, 13 assists. That’s major. He’s definitely an underrated passer.”

With Butler leading the way, the Heat have gotten off to a 9-3 start, good for second place in the Eastern Conference standings. Jimmy is trying to guide the Heat back to the playoffs after Miami missed it last season.

A lot of pundits questioned Butler's move to South Beach this summer. However, Butler is proving everyone wrong so far.
