In the last several weeks, there has been a growing notion that the Chicago Bulls could be nearing a contract buyout with All-Star guard Dwyane Wade.

At the same time, a return to the Miami Heat has entered the picture as a potential scenario if both sides were to indeed go down that route. According to Ira Winderman of The Sun-Sentinel, Heat president Pat Riley recently touched upon the subject where he gave off the sense that door is open to it being a realistic option down the line.

“Anything that happens down the road, we're always going to approach that. But right now he's under contract with Chicago.”

There is clearly mutual interest on both sides with each providing vague answers that would indicate that it could become a strong possibility if Wade is bought out. The 35-year-old has a long successful history with the organization having spent his first 13 seasons in Miami.

The only roadblock at this moment is his current contract situation as he's set to enter the second year of his two-year, $48 million deal that will pay him $23.8 million. The Bulls are reportedly only interesting in working out a buyout if it benefits them, which would essentially indicate that Wade would have to be willing to give up a sizeable chunk of the remaining money on his deal.

All of this appears to be headed down the path of Wade at some point reaching a buyout in his contract, and a return back to Miami could very well be the next step in his career.
