Udonis Haslem is going to be entering his 20th season in the NBA next term. That is, of course, under the assumption that the Miami Heat veteran does not decide to retire before the start of the new season.

If you ask Heat president Pat Riley, however, it seems that Miami is more than willing to have Haslem back if he so wishes:

“When you’ve got 20 years of experience, like he does, and he’s knowledgeable and he has the right disposition for this organization, we want him to be in this organization as long as he wants to be,” Riley said, via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “I mean, defining exactly what it is that he wants to do, I mean I would love to have UD around in whatever capacity.

“And so we haven’t discussed any of that, because I think he struggles with, ‘I want to be on the court.’ I’ll sit down with UD. I love him to death. So we’ll see where it goes.”

Haslem himself already said that he will need to figure things out this summer with regard to his future. He was non-committal in his intention to return next season, but at the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of the same.
