LeBron James back to the Miami Heat? It's likely to never happen, but Pat Riley would still like to envision it.

The Heat president recently appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and addressed a previous comment he made about a possible reunion with LeBron in South Beach.

“I would leave the key under the doormat if he would call and let me know he’s coming,” Riley said. “I would do that, but I doubt very much if that key …. that key’s rusted now.”

“I wish him nothing but the best,” he said of James. “And if he ever wanted to come back, then I’ll put a new shiny key under that mat.”

Just tease the Heat fans, why don't you. But for real, James isn't planning to leave LA anytime soon, despite their early exit from the playoffs. The Lakers star will likely finish out his career in Southern California, but Miami could certainly use some more help.

The Heat were swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round after reaching the finals last season in the bubble against LeBron's Lakers. They're expected to be one of the more active teams in free agency this summer, with several players on their current roster such as Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn set to hit the market.

The one superstar that Miami has been linked with is Kawhi Leonard. He has a player option this summer and if the Clippers do get knocked out by the Mavs on Sunday, you could see him bolt for greener pastures.

The Heat will definitely be making some moves. But, LeBron James is unfortunately a pipe dream.
