The last 48 hours have been pretty eventful for the Miami Heat after forward Markieff Morris had a shoving match with Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic during their game the other day.

Players, analysts, and fans alike have weighed in on the altercation, with Jokic getting suspended for one game and Morris getting a hefty fine. Heat star Jimmy Butler was also penalized for instigating things.

Much has been said about the melee, but arguably, the best reaction came from Heat enforcer PJ Tucker. The wide-bodied veteran has had his fair share of physical spats, but he offered a pretty sober take on what happened (via ESPN).

“We're men, man. We've got kids. You've got to think about our livelihoods. It's not just basketball. Guys have to protect each other and have each others' back. That situation is over and we've got to move on and get ready for tonight and the next two games.”

It's hard to disagree with Tucker's perspective. With all the stuff going on in the NBA, it helps to remain even-keeled and have a wider view of things. Perhaps the Heat forward has developed the virtue in his 13 years battling against the league's best players.

Tucker also expressed optimism that the Heat won't be distracted, especially with Morris escaping serious injury after Jokic's shove.

“Markieff is my brother. He's been my brother for a long time. Of course, when my brother is down on the floor, I'm worried. But he's good so I can't wait to get him back.”

Morris skipped the Heat's game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
