After Tyler Herro's performance in the 2020 bubble playoffs, there were a lot of expectations he could become the third star on the Miami Heat behind Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Unfortunately, the young sharpshooter disappointed a lot of fans with his poor display in his second season in the NBA–highlighted more by his off-court antics than his production on the court.

In a bit of a good news for the Heat faithful, however, it seems Herro is working on his game and gearing up for a bounce-back campaign after a rather forgettable year.

According to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, his sources have told him Herro played well as part of the select team that played against and practiced with the Team USA Olympic squad. The exact term the sources used was Herro “belonged.”

Now that is certainly music to the ears of Heat fans. After all a lot of people want to see Tyler Herro traded after his failed campaign with Miami, but it looks like it is only motivating him to prove his critics and doubters wrong.

Herro improved his scoring in his sophomore year with the Heat–from 13.5 to 15.1–but his 3-point shooting clip decreased to just 36.0 percent. He has also been largely inconsistent, scoring 20 or 30-plus points at times then just making two points or less in other instances. The 21-year-old's focus has also been largely questioned, with some believing his sudden rise to stardom and the way he handled it negatively affected him.

Hopefully, being part of the USA select team has helped Herro in getting back to focus and working on his game the right way. As his Heat teammate Bam Adebayo said, getting to watch the superstar talents from the NBA and their work ethic should be beneficial for the youngster.
