Miami Heat sharpshooter Tyler Herro shared his thoughts after the team lost recently to the depleted Los Angeles Clippers.

Per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald Herro said, “I know this team is special. … This team is as good as last year's team that I was on.” The sophomore standout stated that the Heat faced certain circumstances that have been out of the team's control and caused Miami to be limited at the start of the season.

Last season, despite Miami being the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, the team had a Cinderella run to the Finals. They swept the shorthanded Indiana Pacers, then did a near-sweep of the Milwaukee Bucks with MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Giannis Antetokounmpo. Then, Miami bested the Boston Celtics in an exciting six-game series. They put up a good and valiant fight against the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers, which also ended in six games.

This season, Miami has been off to a rough start, to say the least. They currently have a record of 6-12, which puts them in 13th place in their Conference. It would seem that their deep postseason run and shorter offseason put quite a strain on their players. Players such as All-NBA Third Team member Jimmy Butler, versatile big man Bam Adebayo, Herro, Goran Dragić, and Avery Bradley all missed a significant amount of time this season.

There are still plenty of games to go, but the Heat need to get healthy sooner rather than later to turn things around.
