After a year and a half apart, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem are about to be reunited once again in South Beach with the Miami Heat.

When asked about Wade’s imminent return, Haslem sounded as if he was willing to grant his old teammate a share of his city once again, although it’s not entirely clear whether he’s 100 percent cool with it.

Most likely, he's just kidding around.

Haslem and Wade were teammates for their entire careers in the NBA up until 2016. While Wade was drafted No. 5 overall by Miami in 2003, Haslem was an undrafted free agent who willed his way into the team during the same season. Together, they won three championships with the Heat and basically own the city of Miami.

They were the faces of the franchise for over a decade and both were expected to be Heat players for life. But, after a contract dispute, Wade left to go to Chicago in free agency in 2016 and subsequently teamed up with LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

Haslem remains a one-team guy, though. Despite the fact that he barely plays nowadays for Miami, he will forever be one of the most revered and respected sports figures in South Beach because of the grit and toughness he played with during his prime.

And while Haslem may joke, Miami will always be Wade’s city. He’s an icon and a legend, quite possibly the greatest player in franchise history. It didn’t quite seem right that he ever left Miami, but at least he’s back together with Haslem where he belongs.
