Miami Heat icon Udonis Haslem says All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler is an “amazing tremendous competitor.”

The Heat acquired Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers in a sign-and-trade deal involving Josh Richardson. Haslem and Butler figure to be the two leaders in Miami next season:

“Another leader,” Haslem said of what Butler brings to the Heat, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “Another amazing, amazing tremendous competitor. Another guy with some experience. Another guy who can drive these guys, but not just off the court or in practice like I do. Somebody that actually drives these guys in the game, push these guys. Play at an intense level in the game and do some of the things I try to do from the bench.

“But it’s always different when you have a guy in the game that’s driving guys like that. I feel like we have that in Justise [Winslow], as well. I feel like we’re getting that out of Bam [Adebayo], as he’s growing and getting more comfortable. We have guys like that, but Jimmy is the most comfortable and the guys that’s been doing that long enough.”

Jimmy Butler is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. He's also a fierce competitor who isn't afraid of getting in teammates' faces.

Last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sixers, Butler averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The Heat are expecting Butler to lead the team back to the playoffs after Miami missed it last season.
