One of the main reasons the Miami Heat brought in Victor Oladipo to the team is because of the elite defense he brings to the table. The two-time All-Star exhibited just that on his Miami debut on Thursday, clamping down none other than Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in an outstanding defensive effort.

Here's a look at Oladipo locking up the greatest shooter of all time (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

Not only is Curry the best shooter ever, but he's also the owner of some of the sickest handles in the NBA right now. He's been known to put defenders on skates on more than a few occasions with his insane dribbling skills, but this simply wasn't the case against Oladipo on Thursday.

Oladipo arrived in Miami on trade deadline day as part of a deal with the Houston Rockets that saw Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley, and a future first-round pick all heading in the way of Houston. It was a steep price to pay for the Heat, but already, Oladipo is showing his worth for his new team.

Let's not forget that Oladipo was named to the NBA's All-Defensive squad not too long ago on the same season that he led the league in steals (2017-18). Now that he's in Miami, the 28-year-old adds considerable depth to what is already a formidable Heat defense.
