If his latest move is any indication, Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo is in South Beach to stay.

According to Brian Bandell of South Florida Business Journal, Oladipo recently purchased a mansion in Miami beach worth a whopping $7.75 million. The said 6,900 square foot property has seven bedrooms and seven and half bathrooms, as well as a pool and a pool house. It is said to be located in the gated community of Hibiscus Island.

If it is true, the timing of the sale is interesting since Oladipo is in the final year of his contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent in the 2021 offseason, so it is surprising for him to make a huge purchase with his future still uncertain (or is it?).

Oladipo remains out for the Heat, and it is still unknown when he will return to action for the defending Eastern Conference champs.

To recall, Victor Oladipo injured his knee on April 8 and has been out since then. Including Monday's game, he has already missed 17 straight games for the Heat.

In the four games he has played in for Miami, he averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 steals. Although he has shown that he can contribute for the franchise—with the Heat going 3-1 on the contests he played in—there's no doubt his injury history is a concern.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Oladipo and the Heat in free agency. It is possible Miami would not sign him and let him walk away. However, the fact that he planted his roots with an expensive purchase makes people think otherwise.
