The Miami Heat got stomped out of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks this year, and now they're looking to upgrade the roster around stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Apparently, one option could be center Andre Drummond, who finished this past season on the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, there's one caveat: Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra would have to change his approach and be willing to play Drummond with Adebayo. This comes from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

Drummond is an option if Spoelstra is willing to change his approach and play him with Adebayo. The Heat had some interest before he signed with the Lakers and another pursuit wouldn’t surprise me.

Miami has a rather small roster and got crushed inside by Milwaukee, so it makes sense to be seeking out some size in free agency. However, the Drummond fit with Adebayo would be rather awkward. Both players operate better close to the basket, which would clog driving lanes for Butler, who has essentially eliminated the 3-point shot from his repertoire. Even if shooters like Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro are back, the spacing would be pretty rough with Butler, Bam and Drummond as three of the top players.

Drummond will likely come rather cheap after his uneven play with the Lakers, but the fit just doesn't seem right in Miami. Jackson brings up a bunch of other names as frontcourt targets, and the Heat will surely cast a wide net as they look to bring in more talent.
