Miami Heat star Goran Dragic was forced to exit Game 1 of the Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday due to a foot injury. Initial reports have surfaced pertaining to the extent of the injury, and unfortunately for the Heat it does not look good.

Miami team insider Greg Sylvander made the report via Twitter:

The injury looked of the non-contact variety and Dragic was immediately forced to exit the ballgame. He was initially tagged as doubtful to return, which was a good sign on the onset. The veteran guard, however, was unable to come back after further assessment of the injury.

Dragic finished the contest with just six points, one rebound, three assists, and two steals in 15 minutes of action.

To be clear, nothing is official yet, and the Heat have yet to release an official statement on the status of Dragic. However, based on what we've been reading thus far, it would not be a complete shock if the 34-year-old misses the entire series from here on out. Stay plugged in as we'll pass along any new information as they come along.

From the game standpoint, the Heat were absolutely pummeled by the Lakers in Game 1, with the blowout finishing with a final score of 116-98. At one point, L.A. was up by 30 points. If Game 1 is any indication of how this series will play out, then it is clear that the Heat are overmatched by a powerhouse Lakers side. Missing one of their key cogs in Dragic for the rest of the series only further diminishes their chances from here on out.
