The Miami Heat are reportedly expected to check in with the Houston Rockets regarding a possible trade, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Jackson also reports Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley remains in play for the Heat.

The Rockets are reportedly making everyone on the roster except for superstar guard James Harden available in trade talks. The Heat could have interest in point guard Chris Paul, shooting guard Eric Gordon or power forward P.J. Tucker, per Jackson.

The Heat is expected to check in with Houston on available players (Chris Paul, P.J. Tucker, Eric Gordon) but not sure there’s an ideal match there. Memphis’ Mike Conley remains among several possibilities.

The Grizzlies are widely expected to draft Murray State point guard Ja Morant with the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, which means Conley could be on the move this summer. Conley has two years left on his contract, with 2020-21 being a player option.

The Heat already have a high payroll, so it's doubtful they would want to acquire Paul and his hefty contract. CP3 will make a whopping $38,506,482 next season and $41,358,814 in 2020-21.

Gordon, though, could be a player the Heat pursue. He's got one year left on his contract.
