The Miami Heat have signed undrafted Georgia forward Yante Maten to a two-way deal, giving the franchise an added talent and some options moving forward.

Yante Maten wasn't really thought about as an NBA prospect prior to Summer League, but played well for the Heat during those events.

In seven games for Miami, Maten averaged 10.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 45 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the foul line.

For what it is worth, the two-way deal doesn't mean Maten will play for the Heat this season. More than likely, unless he continues to impress and shine, he will play the majority of the season in the G-League — if not all of it. That's not to be negative about his chances, but Miami is unlikely to need his services this season.

If he was to end up playing for Miami, though, the Heat can keep Maten on the roster for up to 45 days. At that point, they'd either have to keep him up for the remainder of the season or send him back to the G-League without ever being able to call him up again.

It's a relatively small blip on the NBA radar, but who knows? Maybe Maten ends up being a stud.
