Tempers flared towards the end of the Miami Heat and Dever Nuggets' matchup on Monday night after Nikola Jokic and Markieff Morris exchanged blows at mid-court.

As Jokic was about to pass the ball, Morris barrelled into the upper body of the Nuggets star. In retaliation, Jokic shoved the Heat forward that sent the latter falling to the floor. The ensuing events were just as ugly as Jimmy Butler was seen barking at Jokic. A picture of Heat players stalking the Nuggets in the locker room also went viral.

The incident drew several reactions on social media. One of these comments came from ex-NBA All-Star and 2016 champion Richard Jefferson, who took to Instagram to express his thoughts on Morris' move, implying that the latter's foul was uncalled for in the first place. Jefferson pointed out that Jokic would not have snapped if not for the hard foul

Heat veteran Udonis Haslem had some things to say to Jefferson, though. He reminded RJ of Jokic's hard fouls on others.

Judgment on the incident aside, it's always nice to have someone like Haslem having your back. The 19-year veteran has embraced his enforcer role for as long as we can remember. Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Bosh, Jimmy Butler, and other Heat stars of past and present can attest to his reputation.

This is one of the reasons why Haslem is beloved in Miami which gives the idea of him never retiring a somewhat comforting feeling. Whether it's rooted in familiarity or a sense of security, Heat players can always expect UD40 to have their back.
