Bam Adebayo has more perimeter skills than most expect. The Miami Heat big man is among the most naturally gifted overall athletes in the NBA, and often uses those tools to put pressure on the rim with the dribble. Erik Spoelstra has even experimented running inverted pick-and-rolls with Adebayo as the ball handler. The University of Kentucky product is a surprisingly adept passer, too.

The next frontier for Adebayo? Stepping out to the three-point line, where he didn't attempt a single shot as a rookie and is just 1-of-9 this season. Adebayo nearly doubled his three-point output on Friday night in the unlikeliest of ways – with this swished 90-foot heave.

One problem: The buzzer sounded before Adebayo let it fly. Shame.

The Heat needed all the points they could get against the Oklahoma City Thunder, too, falling 118-102 from the friendly confines of American Airlines Arena. Adebayo was a bright spot for Miami, finishing with 10 points, nine rebounds, and two assists on 4-of-5 shooting in 25 minutes off the bench. Paul George simply proved too much for the Heat, though, boosting his MVP candidacy with 43 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and a career-high 10 three-pointers.

Maybe Adebayo can teach George how to splash triples from the other dotted circle?
