The Los Angeles Lakers are in South Beach Thursday, where they are looking to extend their win streak to four games with a matchup with the Miami Heat. It did not take long, though, before the two teams began exchanging fireworks, perhaps none more impressive than this rookie-on-rookie midair collision early in the contest.

In the first quarter, Kyle Kuzma drove to the rim hoping to put Bam Adebayo, the Heat's center on a poster, but just the exact opposite happened.

Adebayo rose up with two hands and said no with a clean two-handed rejection.

This was good news for Adebayo, who has seen his name mentioned in a recently uncovered college basketball controversy. He was one of the players named in the Yahoo! Sports report as a player who was played by an agent.

A listing that refers to “BAM” for $12,000 is later identified in the documents as Edrice “Bam” Adebayo, who would go on to play at Kentucky in 2016-17. He did not sign with ASM. There’s a later reference to Adebayo that says he received $36,500. “Bad loan,” reads the document.

Although he is the NBA now, and he can't really be punished now for accepting the loan, this isn't the type of media that he wants to surround his name.

Bam Adebayo was taken with the 14th pick in the 2017 draft — 13 picks higher than Kyle Kuzma — by the Heat out of Kentucky and he is having a solid year for the team. He has played in 52 games so far this year putting up 7.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

He has been a key player for the team from South Beach this year, and if he can continue his upward climb, and blocking people at the rim, he's got a real shot at being a good player for a long time in this league.
