The NBA released the list of the starters for the 2020 NBA All-Star game and it did not include Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler. NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley voiced his displeasure with the fact that Butler was left off the list. He believes the acquisition of Butler is the factor that has turned the Heat into a non-playoff team into the second-seed in the Eastern Conference.

“Jimmy Butler should be starting, plain and simple,” Barkley said.

While Butler may not be starting in the All-Star game, he is undoubtedly going to make it as a reserve. His teammate, Bam Adebayo, is likely going to earn the honor as well, which makes sense given his production and the team's success.

The impact Butler has provided the Heat has been impressive. Some of it shows in the box score with averages of 20.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. However, there is a leadership aspect that goes beyond the surface and unnoticed by many — and something Barkley definitely factored in with his statement.
